Bubbly. Feisty. Oh-so- sippable. Today we are making my Skinny Moscow Mule, a low calorie cocktail mixed up right in a copper serving mug.

Moscow mules are traditionally made with vodka, ginger beer, sometimes bitters, and garnished with a lime. They are my go-to drink of choice, vodka and that spicy ginger soda in the prettiest cup in the bar.
These babies are also insanely easy to make at home, and I had a feeling that a skinny version would taste just as good… and, I was right. You won’t even miss the extra calories when we swap the ginger beer for sugar-free ginger beer! Speaking of the pesky things we call calories- a regular Moscow mule comes in at around 200 calories. My Skinny Moscow Mule has only….
Drumroll Please…
98. You’re welcome!

The lineup: Vodka (of course) + Diet or Sugar-free Ginger Beer + angostura bitters.

Say it with me, aaaaaahng-uh-stoooooo-ruh. You better believe I had to look up how to pronounce this myself. Bitters are a highly concentrated herb and spice tincture, if you will, that add that little somethin’ somethin’ to your beverage, if you know what I mean. They actually won’t add any oomph alcohol-wise, since we use just a few drops. But, they add tons of flavor. And some fresh mint + lime for garnish.

Start with your copper mug. I mean, you could totally make this in a regular old fashioned glass. But. The copper mug keeps it so nice and chilly and sipping out of one just feels more… special. So, fill it about halfway with ice cubes.

Add a jigger- or 1.5 ounces- of your favorite vodka. Top off with the diet ginger beer, and a dash (about 6 drops) of the bitters.

Give it a stir and garnish with a lime wheel + fresh mint.

Drink up, my thirsty friends! At only 98 calories each… have two!
