Imagine, it’s thanksgiving-eve and you have been slaving away in the kitchen, thoughtfully preparing each and every dish. It’s time to throw together your old stand-by: pecan pie. You don’t have my easy toasted pecan recipe. So, you open up that bag of somewhat bland pecans and dump them in. You bake your pie, and its fine. But I have a trick for you to make it even better.

Now, imagine– you take five minutes to first dump the bag of pecans onto a baking sheet. You toast them in the oven for 5 (yes, just 5!) minutes. Your kitchen fills with the aroma of nutty, toasty, warm pecans and now you can bake all of that deep, complex, yummy flavor into your pie. You just leveled-up, my baking friend, with these easy toasted pecans.

These easy toasted pecans add a more complex flavor to your salads, cookies, trail mix- anything you would normally throw regular pecans in! If you are looking for a cookie recipe to use up some leftover pecans in, my Loaded Valentine’s Cookie recipe is amazeballs. You’ll want to give it a try!
But be warned – the aroma of these toasty things will envelope around your loved ones and they may not last long enough to make it into your recipe.
How to Make the Easy Toasted Pecans:
You’ll need halved pecans, and a parchment lined baking sheet. If you haven’t tried these pre-cut parchment sheets, you should give them a shot. They make cleanup a breeze, and they help prevent your baked goods from browning too much on the bottom.

First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Toss those pecans on the baking sheet, lined with parchment paper. Make sure they are hanging out in an even layer. Toast in the oven for about 5 minutes- your nose will tell you when they are ready! Trust me, things will start to smell divine.

Take out of oven, let cool, and these deep, nutty scrumptious pecans will be ready for use. They are best used within a day or two, stored in an airtight container. They can be stored in a ziplock bag in the freezer for a few months.

So, goodbye, boring + ordinary pecans. And hello, rich + nutty easy toasted pecans!
